IDENTITY OF JESUS CHRIST

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE AGREE AT SOME POINT WHO CHRIST REALLY IS.


THIS AGREEMENT WILL HELP US KNOW WHO IS CHRIST AND THE ROLE OF CHRIST IN OUR LIVES.


THERE ARE MANY CONCEPTS ABOUT CHRIST, AND MANY WILL PRESENT CHRIST DIFFERENTLY WITH ONE ANOTHER.


THEREFORE, IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT THAT THERE BE AGREEMENTS BETWEEN OUR MEMBERS REGARDING THE IDENTITY OF CHRIST.


THERE ARE VERSES THAT GIVES US CLUES REGARDING THE TRUE IDENTITY OF CHRIST.


Colossians 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.


CHRIST IS THE IMAGE OF THE INVISIBLE GOD, THE FIRSTBORN OVER ALL CREATION.


THIS CERTAINLY WILL NOT PERTAIN ON THE HUMAN BODY OF JESUS, BUT PERTAINS TO THE SPIRIT INSIDE THE BODY OF JESUS WHEN HE CONDUCTED HIS MISSION HERE ON EARTH.


FOR THE BODY OF JESUS WAS BORN OF THE VIRGIN NAMED MARY. THEREFORE, IT IS NOT HIS BODY THAT IS FIRSTBORN OVER ALL CREATION, BUT THE SPIRIT WHICH DWELLS IN THE BODY OF JESUS.


John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.


CHRIST IS THE ONE AND ONLY SON OF GOD.


WHO IS THE SON OF GOD PERTAINED HERE? 


AGAIN, THE SPIRIT WHICH DWELLS IN THE BODY OF JESUS, IS THE ONE AND ONLY SON OF GOD.


John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.


IN THE BEGINNING, THE FORM OF CHRIST IS THE WORD, THE WORD WHICH IS WITH GOD AND IS GOD.


John 1:2  He was with God in the beginning.
CHRIST IS THE COMPANION OF GOD IN THE BEGINNING.


John 1:3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
CHRIST IS CO-CREATOR WITH THE FATHER.


John 1:4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men.
HE IS THE SOURCE OF LIFE AND LIGHT OF MEN


John 1:5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
HE IS BEYOND THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE DARKNESS AND THOSE WHO BELONG TO THE DARKNESS.


John 1:10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.
WHEN THE SON OF GOD INCARNATED IN THE FLESH AS JESUS, HE WAS NOT RECOGNIZED BY THE WORLD, ALTHOUGH THE WORLD WAS CREATED THROUGH HIM.


John 1:11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.
THE SON OF GOD MADE THE WORLD, AND EVERYTHING IN IT (WHEN GOD SAID- LET THERE BE, THE ONE WHO WILL MAKE WHAT THE FATHER SAID IS THE SON)
YET, PEOPLE DID NOT RECEIVED HIM, BECAUSE THEY DID NOT KNOW HIM.


John 1:12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God--
THOSE WHO RECEIVE HIM AS THE SON OF GOD, AND HAS COME TO RECOGNIZE HIM, AND BELIEVE IN HIS NAME- WAS GIVEN THE RIGHT TO BECOME CHILDREN OF GOD.


John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
THE WORD, WHO WAS WITH GOD, AND IS GOD, INCARNATED IN THE FLESH, AND LIVED AS A HUMAN BEING.


John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
THE CHRIST IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE.
HE IS THE ONLY WAY TO COME TO THE FATHER, WHO IS GOD ABOVE ALL.


John 10:9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture.
HE IS THE GATE OF SALVATION.


John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
HE IS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD WHICH GIVES LIFE


Psalm 23:1 A psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.


John 10:14 "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me--
HE IS THE SHEPHERD, WHO GUIDED DAVID, AND CAME INTO FLESH IN THE TIME OF JOHN.


Revelation 1:8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."


Revelation 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.


Revelation 21:6 He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.


HE IS THE ALPHA AND THE OMEGA, THE BEGINNING AND THE END.


John 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
HE IS THE VINE WHICH WE NEED TO REMAIN ATTACHED TO BEAR MUCH FRUIT.


John 6:48 I am the bread of life.


John 6:35 Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.


John 6:51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world."


HE IS THE BREAD FROM HEAVEN WHO IS THE SOURCE OF ETERNAL LIFE.


John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
HE IS THE LAMB OF GOD WHO TAKES AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD.


Mark 12:10 Haven't you read this scripture: "'The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone;
HE IS THE CAPSTONE, EVEN IF THE BUILDERS REJECTED HIM


Isaiah 28:16 So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed.


Ephesians 2:20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.
HE IS THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE OF THE CHURCH OF GOD


1 John 5:1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well.
JESUS- THE CHRIST- BORN OF GOD


1 Corinthians 1:30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God--that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.
CHRIST IS THE WISDOM FROM GOD.


FOR THOSE WHO ARE IN CHRIST, 
HE IS OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS
OUR HOLINESS
OUR REDEMPTION


1 Corinthians 1:24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
CHRIST IS THE POWER OF GOD
CHRIST IS THE WISDOM OF GOD

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with 
child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.


Matthew 1:23 "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"--which means, "God with us."


HE IS IMMANUEL, GOD WITH US.


THESE ARE A NUMBER OF BIBLICAL REFERENCES ABOUT THE IDENTITY OF CHRIST IN THE BIBLE.


THEREFORE, WE SHOULD UNDERSTAND, THAT JESUS CHRIST IS BOTH THE SON OF MAN AND THE SON OF GOD.


THE PHYSICAL BODY HE INCARNATED WITH IS HUMAN- THEREFORE- SON OF MAN.
THE TRUE IDENTITY OF THE SPIRIT THAT DWELLS IN THE PHYSICAL BODY OF JESUS IS THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD, THE WORD OF GOD, THE WISDOM OF GOD, THE POWER OF GOD, ETC.


THEREFORE, KNOWING THIS, THERE SHOULD BE NO CONFUSION AS TO HOW HE BECAME SO.


IT WAS DECIDED UPON THAT THESE SHOULD HAPPEN FOR THE SALVATION OF PEOPLE, SO THAT HUMAN BEINGS MAY HAVE THE CHANCE TO BECOME RECONCILED WITH GOD, AND ATTAIN TO SALVATION.


ALL OF THESE GOD DID OUR OF LOVE FOR US.


IN TURN, WE TOO MUST LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS CHRIST LOVED US.
