PARABLE OF THE WHEAT AND THE WEEDS

Matthew 13:24-30
New International Version (NIV)

24 Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field.

25 But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away.

26 When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.

27 “The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’

28 “‘An enemy did this,’ he replied.

“The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’

29 “‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them.

30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’”

INTERPRETATION:

24 Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field.

IN THE BEGINNING, GOD MADE EVERYTHING GOOD, INCLUDING MAN.

HE CREATED MAN IN HIS IMAGE AND LIKENESS, AND HIS INTENTION IS FOR THE GOOD.

25 But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away.

THERE COME A TIME THAT THE WOMAN WHO WAS WITH THE MAN WAS DECEIVED BY THE OLD SERPENT, WHO IS SATAN, AND PLANTED UNTO EVE THE SEED OF CORRUPTION

ADAM FOLLOWED EVE, AND FELL OUT OF THE GRACE OF GOD.

THUS, THE WHOLE OF MANKIND FELL UNDER THE POWER OF THE EVIL ONE.

26 When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.
THUS, MANKIND HAVE  ACTIONS ROOTED FROM THE GOODNESS OF GOD, AND ACTS OF MEN THAT ARE ROOTED FROM THE EVIL OF SATAN.

27 “The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’

THIS IS THEN THE QUESTION OF THE SERVANTS OF GOD, WHY IN SPITE OF BEST EFFORTS, MANKIND WILL FALL INTO SIN.

THIS IS THE QUESTION WHY MANKIND HAS EVIL/WICKED TENDENCIES WHEN IN THE BEGINNING, HE WAS CREATED TO BE GOOD.

28 “‘An enemy did this,’ he replied.
IT IS SATAN'S DOING, WHO IS THE ENEMY OF MEN, WHO DID THIS.

WHY? SO THAT HE WOULD BE IN CONTROL OF MEN.

“The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’
THIS IS THE QUESTION ASKED BY THE SERVANTS OF GOD WHO ARE THE ANGELS AND SPIRITS WHO ARE GIVEN POWER TO HAVE SUCH ABILITIES AS TO REMOVE EVIL TENDENCIES IN MEN.

WILL THEY INTERVENE TO REMOVE EVIL TENDENCIES IN MEN?

29 “‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them.

SINCE THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE GOODNESS AND EVIL TENDENCIES ARE CLOSE TOGETHER, AND GOD KNOWS THAT WHEN THE TENDENCY TO DO EVIL IS REMOVED IN MAN, HE MIGHT DIE, AND THE TENDENCY OF MEN TO DO GOOD MAY DIE TOO.

WHY? THE TENDENCY TO DO GOOD AND THE TENDENCY TO DO EVIL LIES INSIDE ONE'S HEART- OR CORE OF THE HUMAN BEING.

REMOVING OR UPROOTING THE EVIL TENDENCIES (SUCH AS DESIRES, ANGER, PASSIONS, ETC) WILL RESULT IN THE POSSIBLE DESTRUCTION OF THE CORE OF THE PERSON, WHICH ALSO HAS THE CAPACITY TO DO WHAT IS GOOD.

THIS MAY RESULT IN KILLING THE PERSON- THUS- IN SUCH INSTANCE, IT IS BETTER TO LET HUMAN BEINGS BE.

30 Let both grow together until the harvest.

LET MEN CHOOSE THEIR DESTINY- WHETHER THEY BE FOR GOD, OR AGAINST GOD.

At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’”

THIS IS THE FINAL JUDGMENT.

IN THE END, THERE WILL BE MEN WHO EITHER HAVE DONE MUCH EVIL IN THEIR LIVES- "THE WEEDS"- AND THEY ARE TO BE GATHERED TO BE BURNED IN HELL.

THOSE WHO HAVE CHOSEN TO LIVE THE LIFE THAT GOD INTENDS FOR US TO LIVE- WHICH IS THE LIFE BASED ON LOVE, THEY ARE THOSE WHO ARE "THE WHEAT"- WHO WILL ENTER INTO GOD'S KINGDOM.

THIS IS ONE OF THE INTERPRETATION OF THIS PARABLE.

WHAT IS IMPORTANT IS THAT WE LET THE WHEAT GROW MORE IN US THAN THE WEEDS.

THE WHEAT PLANTED IN OUR SOIL IS GOD'S WORD, WHICH IS GOOD.

THAT WORD IS CHRIST- WHICH IS THE SON OF GOD.

HIS CENTRAL COMMANDMENT IS LOVE.

THEREFORE, FOR THE WHEAT TO GROW IN US, AND THE WEEDS TO WITHER, WE NEED TO LIVE A LIFE THAT IS BASED OF THE CENTRAL COMMANDMENT OF CHRIST, WHICH IS LOVE.

LET US LOVE ONE ANOTHER, AS CHRIST LOVE US.

THROUGH LOVE, THE WHEAT WILL GROW, AND THE WEEDS WILL WITHER.

THROUGH LOVING ONE ANOTHER, WE WILL COME NEARER TO GOD, AND BECOME THE WHEAT, AND NOT THE WEEDS.

GOD BLESS EVERYONE.
